Quick Tip: Password Policy Overview

Euna Grants allows Account Administrators to configure a password policy to control how users create and manage their passwords. Password policy settings are not mandatory to access Euna Grants. Refer to your organization's internal policies to determine which settings to configure.

Important Configure password policy settings before you create users in Euna Grants. This ensures all users follow the required criteria from the start.

Password Policy Settings

Password policy settings allow Account Administrators to control how users manage their passwords over time. Use these settings to set expiration schedules, limit failed login attempts and prevent password reuse across your organization.

1. Navigate to Administration > License Information.
   
   The License Information page displays.
2. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page.
   
   The Settings page displays.
3. Click the Edit button in the icon toolbar and scroll to the Password Policy Settings section.
   

4. In the Enable Password Policy field, select Yes from the dropdown menu. 
   The following optional settings display:

   Setting	Description
   Expire Passwords Every __ Weeks	Sets how frequently passwords expire
   # of Incorrect Logins Before Lock Out	Sets the number of incorrect logins allowed before the user is locked out
   User Cannot Reuse Last __ Passwords	Sets how many previous passwords the user cannot reuse

5. Select the checkbox for each setting you want to activate and choose the appropriate value from the numbered dropdown menu.
   

Password Complexity Settings

Password complexity settings allow Account Administrators to define the strength requirements for user passwords. Use these settings to ensure users create passwords that meet your organization's security standards.

Note: Enable Password Policy does not have to be set to Yes to set password complexity,

1. In the Enable Password Complexity field, select Yes from the dropdown menu. 
   The following optional settings display:

   Setting	Description
   Required Minimum Character Length	Requires a minimum number of characters (1-10)
   Require Numeric Character	Requires at least one number in the password
   Require Capital Letter	Requires at least one uppercase letter in the password
   Require Special Character	Requires at least one special character in the password
   Prohibit Email in Password	users cannot include their email address in their password
   Prohibit First or Last Name	users cannot include their first or last name in their password

2. Select the checkboxes for the complexity requirements you want to activate.
   
3. Once all settings are complete, click the Update button at the bottom of the page.
