Subjects and departments are master data elements that help you organize and manage your grant portfolio in Euna Grants. Setting up subjects and departments before building your grants supports more effective searching, filtering, reporting, and security management.

Adding a Subject
Subjects are keywords you can tag onto a grant record to support additional search and filtering options within Euna Grants. A grant can have one or more subjects assigned, and subjects are not required on a grant record. Common examples include STEM, healthy living, senior services, and parks. Subjects can also help you track and report on grant revenue, applications, and denials by type.
Note: Align internally on naming conventions before entering subjects to prevent duplication and inconsistent abbreviations.
- In the left navigation menu, select Administration > Lists > Subjects.
The Subjects page displays. - Click the Create button in the options toolbar.
The Subject Information page displays. - In the Name field, enter the name of the subject.
- Click the Create button.
The new subject displays in the Subjects list and is available to assign to grant records in Euna Grants.
Adding a Department
Departments play a key role in security, filtering, and reporting within Euna Grants. A department can represent an internal area of your organization, a program, a partner organization, or another entity responsible for grants. You can assign one or more departments to a user or grant, and a user's department assignment determines which grants and projects they can access.
The department entry form requires only a name. You can also enter a description and a unique identifier to provide additional context.
- In the left navigation menu, select Administration > System Security > Departments.
The Departments page displays. - Click the Create button in the options toolbar.
The Department Information page displays. - In the Name field, enter the name of the department.
- (Optional) Enter a Description and a Unique Identifier.
- Leave the Status set to Enabled.
- Click the Create button.
The Department detail page displays the new department and the information entered.
Note: To view the members assigned to a department, navigate to the Departments list, click the department name, then click the Members tab.
