Setting up Euna Grants requires entering master data such as Organizations, Staff, and Users before you can begin building grants. Entering these records one at a time in Euna Grants works well for small updates, but if you're setting up a new account or adding a large batch of records, the individual import templates let you load multiple records at once.
This article includes the following sections:
Master Data Elements Overview
Euna Grants provides a separate import template for each master data element, and each element serves a different purpose within the system.
The following table describes each element.
| Master Data Element | Definition |
|---|---|
| Organizations | External groups categorized as Federal Government, State Government, Local Government, Foundations, Corporations, Vendors, or Other. Organizations include your funders, partners, or contractors. |
| Individuals | Contacts external to your organization. You can create relationships between individuals and organizations. |
| Staff | Individuals internal to your organization. Staff can link to organizations, individuals, and grants, and can be responsible for budget line items or performance plan measures. Staff can receive emails from Euna Grants but cannot log in. |
| Users | Staff who can log into your Euna Grants account. |
| Departments | An internal area of your organization or program, or a partner organization or other entity responsible for grants. |
| Subjects | Keywords that you can tag onto a grant. |
| Benefit Types | Non-wage compensation provided to staff. |
| Budget Categories | A mechanism for grouping line items within a grant budget. Budget Categories are required in order to build a budget in Euna Grants. |
Preparing to Use Import Templates
Before you enter data, it's important to understand how the templates work so your import completes without errors. Each master data element has its own import template, available from the Import Templates page in the Euna Grants Help Center. Each template includes columns for every available field on that record type in Euna Grants.
Important: Do not modify a template's column names or dropdown options. You upload these files directly to Euna Grants, so the accuracy of the data you enter is critical.
If your organization has naming conventions or other data standards, apply them when you complete the templates. Use caution when entering records that already exist in Euna Grants, since the import updates those existing records rather than creating duplicates.
Fields marked with an asterisk are required. Cells with a red triangle include additional instructions; hover over these cells before you enter data.
Once you complete the templates you need, upload each file to Euna Grants to import your records. For information on importing a completed template, refer to the Importing Master Data video.
