Budget categories group line items together within a grant budget and are a required component of every budget in Euna Grants. Each budget line item must be assigned to one budget category, and at least one category must exist before you can build a budget. Euna Grants includes a set of pre-loaded federal budget categories that are available to use immediately. You can also create custom categories to meet your organization's specific needs.

Pre-Loaded Budget Categories
Euna Grants includes the following federal budget categories by default. These categories are available to assign to budget line items immediately and do not require any configuration.
- Construction
- Consultants/Contracts
- Equipment
- Fringe Benefits
- Indirect
- Personnel
- Supplies
- Travel
Adding a Custom Budget Category
Custom budget categories serve the same purpose as pre-loaded categories and can be used on any grant. The only required field is the category name.
Important: Budget categories require two saves to complete. You must click the save icon next to the category name, then click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page. The category will not be saved if you skip either step.
- In the left navigation menu, select Administration > Lists > Budget Categories.
The Categories page displays. - Click the Add Category button in the options toolbar.
A Name field displays at the bottom of the Custom Category Information list. - In the Name field, enter the name of the new budget category.
- Click the save icon next to the new budget category name.
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen.
The new budget category displays in the Custom Category Information list and is available to assign to budget line items on any grant in Euna Grants.
